How We Plan Windows & Glazing Work

In an occupied building, an opening cannot be left overnight. At Harrow each window was taken out and its replacement fitted in the same session, floor by floor, with scaffolding round the building and the car park kept open for tenants.

Planning permission, and listed building consent where needed, are secured early so the windows can be ordered on time.

Windows & Glazing FAQs

Can I Replace Sash Windows in a Listed Building?

Usually, with listed building consent. The replacements are designed to keep the look of the originals.

Do I Need Planning Permission to Replace Windows?

Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas often need consent. Elsewhere it depends on the property, the area and the design. We check and apply before ordering.

Can You Replace Windows While the Building Is Occupied?

Yes. At Harrow each window was removed and replaced in the same session, floor by floor, with tenants working throughout.
