The client wanted an empty unit turned into a fully operational shop, with cold storage and joinery that gives the space its identity.
Al Dimashqi Kensington Project Overview
We took on the full fit out of Al Dimashqi's retail unit in Kensington, turning an empty shell into a working shop with cold rooms and freezers, joinery counters and display units, air conditioning, fire safety systems and IT.
This was a coordination job as much as a construction job, with several specialist subcontractors working to one programme.

Sequencing Cold Rooms, Ducting & Joinery in a Kensington Shop
Every system had dependencies on the others. The cold rooms could not go in until the power was in and the floor was prepared. The ducting had to be routed before the ceiling closed. Fire systems were commissioned after the M&E but before the finishes.
The joinery was designed around the final positions of the refrigeration and electrics, so it could only be made once those were fixed, and it was installed once the technical fit out was complete.

- All works were inspected and signed off by building control before the shop opened.

The counters, shelving and display units were made by Yasmeen Joinery in Park Royal, built to the exact layout the client needed.

The shop opened fully operational: cold rooms and freezers running, air conditioning working, fire systems commissioned and IT live.
Handed over in December 2021.
